Hurricane Laura

Relief

seeking volunteers

Our volunteer team, Creekside Cares, headed to Lake Charles in the aftermath of Hurricane Laura to lend a helping hand to those in desperate need of all their basic needs. Our team was able to feed 650 people on Saturday this past weekend, and hope to continue the trend through the weekend.

Our continued hope is to be there to feed, serve, pray and talk to these people who have lost so much and continue to await for electricity, water and gas.  We need more people to head back to Louisiana this next weekend.

Our plan is to send volunteers to Lake Charles, as well as a small town east of Lake Charles, Iowa. For efficiency we need 12 volunteers per day. Thus far we have Saturday covered, but are still in need of 4 people for Sunday and 10 people for Monday.  Do you have plans this Labor Day Weekend? We would love for you to join us in being the hands & feet of Jesus as we reach out and serve these people.  If you only have 1 day's time, we'll take it. If you only have 1/2 a day's time, we'll take that, too.  Just join us if you can.

You would need a tent to sleep in and drinking water for the weekend.  If you are interested in learning more contact Misty with the church via email.

Let's be the hands & feet of Jesus and help those in a desperate time of need.
